Yami Zamora De Roberts

As a first-generation college student, Yami received her BA in Pre-Vet Biology from Washburn University. Upon graduation, she worked as a Children’s Advocate for the YWCA Center for Safety & Empowerment, as well as a Chapter Mentor for the Alpha Alpha Chapter of Gamma Phi Omega Intl’ Sorority, Inc. Once she became a Jayhawk in 2021, She was a research assistant who worked with the genomic components and manipulation of the fungus Aspergillus Nidulans in the Molecular Bioscience Department before moving into academic advising in JAA.

In her free time, she likes trying new recipes, spending time in her garden, trying new restaurants,  watching anime and being with her family. She has a background in case management, non-profit work, research and is bilingual (Spanish).
