Biography —
Dr. Hemingson is the Human Anatomy Lab Director at The University of Kansas, where she oversees daily operations in the lab and collaborates with a team of Graduate and Undergraduate Teaching Assistants to instruct the Human Dissection Lab and Human Anatomy Observation Labs. Since joining KU in 2021, she has focused on student-centered learning techniques to engage students in anatomical studies, development of hands-on skills, and strives to inspire critical thinking.
Her research interests include effective human anatomy education methods, student attendance in higher education, and the relationship between somatotype and perceived personality traits.
In recognition of her educational contributions, Dr. Hemingson received the 2021-2022 Del Shankel Teaching Excellence Award. Her mission is to create engaging and effective learning experiences while fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration in both the lab and classroom.
