Erin Kelley-Garrison (she/her/hers) is an academic advisor for the KU Undergraduate Biology Department. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Public Relations from Emporia State. She also holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Kansas. Erin was very involved in both her undergraduate and graduate journey including: Sigma Sigma Sigma (President), Panhellenic Association (Director of Education), and Student Ambassador. Erin is passionate about building experiences and communities that provide all students with a deep sense of belonging. Erin has also spent time at KU in roles supporting student organizations, fraternity and sorority life, and student conduct. She also spent some time at Texas Christian University as an intern for Residential Life in the role of Camps & Conferences!
Erin is very passionate about leadership and has attended (volunteered and organized) several conferences focused on women’s empowerment, LGBTQIA+ mental health, and body equality. It has been through these experiences she has been most inspired by the tenacity of college students and fell in love with their passion for activism. Erin believes this next generation of leaders will change the world for the better!
Outside of higher education, Erin lives for a good sale. You can almost always find her shopping or hanging out with her family! Erin also loves all things pop culture, including Tik Tok, Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl, and Buzzfeed. Erin is also extremely devoted to convincing people that a good meal can fix all of life’s problems; you’ll never leave her office hungry!
