Students pursuing a B.S. Biology degree must select one academic emphasis, or subplan:

  • Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology (EEOB) – for students entering KU in/after Fall 2014
  • Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) – for students entering KU in/after Fall 2014

By requiring an area of emphasis, the B.S. degree option allows students to focus on those aspects of biology that most interest them, while retaining a core selection of course options that may include biochemistry, cell structure and function, evolutionary biology, and organismal physiology.

Former academic emphases, or subplans:

  • Cell Biology – for students entering KU prior to Fall 2014
  • Ecology & Evolutionary Biology – for students entering KU prior to Fall 2014
