Opportunity to create a broadcast program on environmental topics

Friday, September 18, 2020

The Sustainability Action Network of Lawrence is a volunteer organization focused on finding local solutions for transitioning to a sustainable economy. www.sustainabilityaction.net

Exciting opportunity for students to create a broadcast program on environmental topics.

One of the Sustainability Action Network members is a program associate for EcoRadio KC, a weekly radio magazine show that covers topics such as local & regenerative agriculture, energy conservation & efficiency, justice, eco-villages, alternative medicine, indigenous peoples, clean energy, local food systems, biofuels, the need for multicultural participation in social change, global warming & climate disruption, extinction, green building and chemistry, and consumerism.

The volunteer staff of EcoRadio KC (KKFI) will assist students or teams of students to prepare a radio show, record the show for them, and engineer a live broadcast (due to COVID* restrictions, live interviews are currently done using ZOOM or phone).

Interested Students: please contact Teresa Wilke: teresawilke@sunflower.com

EcoRadio KC airs live at 90.1 FM, each Monday from 6–7 pm.  A person can also access 90.1 using a livestream on the smart speaker - simply asking your smart speaker to “play KKFI” or by using the internet to access https://kkfi.org/ and listen live.  Each show is podcast and downloadable from the archive.
